Google Drive integration

Contracts live in Drive. Negotiate them in top.legal.

Open the native Drive picker, pull any contract into the editor, and push the signed PDF back where your team already looks for it. No downloads, no duplicate folders.

The Drive problem

Drive is the contract graveyard you don't mean to have.

Folders multiply, templates fork, the signed PDF ends up in five places — or none.

Which version is current?

Files like 'NDA v3 final FINAL' sit next to 'NDA legal review'. Nobody is sure which one to send.

Version chaos

Download, upload, rename, repeat

Every new contract starts with the same five clicks — for every counterparty, every time.

Manual busywork

Signed PDFs disappear

The fully-executed contract ends up in someone's inbox instead of the deal folder. Good luck finding it next year.

Drive picker

Pick any file from Drive,
import in one click.

top.legal opens the native Google picker — same UI your team already knows. Search, pick, import. The contract lands in the editor ready to redline.

We never copy your Drive in the background. Files come in only when you ask, and your permissions are respected to the byte.

  • Native Google Drive picker, not a clunky web embed
  • Works with My Drive, Shared with me, and Shared Drives
  • DOCX, PDF and Google Docs all open in the top.legal editor
  • Search across every connected folder, not just the one you opened

Your Drive permissions remain the source of truth. We can't see a file you can't see.

Two-way sync

One template folder, every team in sync.

Point top.legal at your Drive template folder. We pull updates on every import — no more colleagues sending last quarter's NDA by mistake.

  • Template edits in Drive show up on the next import
  • Signed PDFs are written back to the deal folder you choose
  • Folder structure mirrors top.legal workspaces 1:1

Drive stays the system of record for files. top.legal handles negotiation, approvals and signature on top.

How it works

Live in 2 minutes. No IT ticket required.

01
Sign in with Google

Standard OAuth — same flow you use for any Google app. Revoke any time.

02
Pick your folders

Choose the template folder and the deal folder. We never touch anything outside them.

03
Import & negotiate

Open any contract directly in the top.legal editor — redline, comment, approve, sign.

04
Push signed PDFs back

Executed contracts land in the right Drive folder automatically. Metadata stays linked.

FAQ

Questions teams ask before they connect.

Can I use Google Docs as templates in top.legal?

Google Docs are imported into the top.legal editor with formatting preserved. You manage versions centrally and keep editing in Docs whenever you prefer — both worlds stay in sync.

Are changes in Drive automatically reflected in top.legal?

Imports are explicit, not silent. You decide which version of a file enters top.legal, which prevents unintended overwrites and keeps the audit trail clean.

Where does the signed PDF end up?

In the Drive folder you connected at setup — by default the same folder the contract came from. The PDF carries the full signature certificate and audit log.

What about Shared Drives and permissions?

Fully supported. top.legal acts as the user signed in, so anything they can't see in Drive stays invisible. No shadow indexing, no background mirroring.
